I’m a girl who loves her denim, I have more pairs of jeans then I do shoes and I have a lot of shoes! Denim never goes out of style and a good pair of jeans will last years. One of my favourite haunts for denim has always been Jeanswest because their denim has a lifetime guarantee, which means even if your button comes off you can return them no questions asked. Something I love because I can buy with reassurance. Usually when I buy a pair of jeans I rush in and rush out I rarely take the time to actually look around at new trends and styles so when the team from Jeanswest gave me the opportunity to come in and have a personal styling session for my birthday I was thrilled!

I pride myself on knowing my style, I’m not a risk taker and know what suits me and what doesn’t. However, I was very excited to see what ideas someone else had so I promised myself I would have fun and be ready to go outside my comfort zone.

When I arrived in store at the Maroochydore, Sunshine Plaza store I was greeted by the lovely Kristal who immediately got the work showing me the latest in denim and trends.

One of the first pieces she showed me was a khaki dress, and my instant thought was ‘oh no I don’t do khaki’ until I reminded myself I was there to try something new so I added it to my change room to try on. Next she introduced me to a new ‘butt lifter’ jean that looked tighter than my usual style but hey what I could say she had me at ‘butt lifter’. I quickly grabbed one in blue and one in black.

We then moved onto my favourite section besides denim and something I actually needed – jackets and I was completely wowed by their wide selection of style from casual to corporate and tailored designs. As I made my way through jackets Kristal brought me a denim jacket and I suddenly I felt very awkward and felt images of the 80’s and 90’s entering my mind. A denim jacket? Surely not in 2015, but I pressed on, denim jacket in tow thinking I would quickly put on to not be rude.

As I entered the change room I could see a sea of colours and styles that were very different from my usual taste ‘Toto we are not Kanas anymore’ I thought and proceeded to try on all of the things Kristal found for me.

First I tried on the khaki dress, as I put it over my head I giggled cringing at the thought of the colour with my complexion and as I pulled it down my jaw dropped… It looked great! The cut, colour and style was perfect! Kristal we have a winner, Mrs Tink has officially added her first piece of khaki to the wardrobe. Next I tried on the ‘butt lifter’ jeans and again another triumph they really did lift my bum and the style was very flattering and extremely comfy, I was so in love I added both colours to my yes pile. Then on to jackets and I found a beautiful black and tweed finish jacket perfect for the office or dressed down with jeans for the weekend, another yes! Lastly, the denim jacket and I came eye to eye and I decided to team up with a dress and as soon as I put one arm in I knew I was going to love it. The softness of the denim was just gorgeous and the cut so comfy. It looked fab teamed with a dress! Another Yes!

As I headed to the counter to take my purchases home I was smiling from ear to ear proud of myself that I took a few risks tonight and put my trust in Kristal and left winning with lots of new looks. This experience at Jeanwest was so much fun and one I look forward to doing again as the next season approaches especially after seeing the size of the change rooms made mother friendly for easy shopping with kids in tow.

OMG What a fantastic prize. Jeanswest is my fave go-to store for all my fashion. I love their jeans, their cardigans, their dresses, their shorts, their casual tops, their layering tops. Did I mention their jeans? I even love that they have a fantastic men’s range too so I can spoil hubby. My teen son has even discovered some great t-shirts that he can fit into. I love everything about Jeanswest. They have something for my entire family. Most of all, I love most that they opened up a store in my local Shopping Centre so I don’t have to travel to the next suburb. Jeanswest is my kinda store.

Is classicly comfortable boheimian a style? Love classic pieces such as jeans, leggings or a white singlet top made unique with an opshop scarf as a belt or a funky necklace.

    Hmmm…….. my style,
    Have you got a while?!
    Busy Mum, exercise queen,
    Professional worker,
    Chef, chauffeur, clean,
So many roles, an outfit for each,
    Some direction I do seek!
It would be great to have a firm idea,
Of what is perfect, what is clear,
To be stylish and pulled together,
No matter what the occasion or the weather!

And a little sexy as a wife!
A little bit of casual as a mummy,
Jeans, and a top to hide my tummy!
    Jeans, skirts and a dress
    Jeans West make me impress!

Haha style..what’s that again? I used to be up to date with trends and always looking stylish but since having my baby almost a year ago I’ve lost my fashionable sense of style and adopted a ‘mum’ style that consists of leggings and oversized tshirts and maybe a hoodie. I used to have a very preppy, girl next door style, lots of swing dresses with jackets, stockings and flats. I used to have such an eye for it but I can’t seem to get an outfit together these days and it makes me sad I’ve forgotten that part of myself.

I have a casual style, usually just jeans and a tshirt. I try and zhoosh it up with a scarf but I’m not really good with that as I have no idea how to match things together! I forget to eat breakfast before I leave the house so fashion is pretty much the same as that -forgotten!

I currently have the ‘new mummy’ style – practical, comfy and abstract (do pyjamas count?!) But trendy, hmmm I’m missing that. I would love some Jeanswest trend and style to start my wardrobe all over again!

My style is different depending on the day. I would say I am 50% boho but their is part of me which can’t go past a good quality tailored Cue dress with a pair of heels.

My style is not so flattering. I am constantly in tracksuits and windcheaters, oh in Summer it changes to Trackpants and t-shirts….lol But I do like to dress up in jeans and some kind of nicer top when I go out. Let’s face it, after having my 2 cherubs I have become a dag and need help!!!

Black and a little white is my usual style (how boring). I am always saying that I MUST put some color into my wardrobe, but always seem to find black and white. I tend to go for timeless pieces but love to add some funky pieces in to give any outfit a bit of something extra. I am American and am still learning what stores fit me best and what my favorite shops in Australia are. I have heard so much about Jeanswest and have been dying to get in for a bit of a shopping spree to try out a new place that so many rave about. I have a feeling Jeanswest will become a favorite go to store for me. I am just afraid without some help I will walk out with my usual black and white, so a styling session with Jeanswest would be just fabulous to help me add some color and fun to my wardrobe and to find my best fit and pieces I might otherwise overlook. It would be such a fabulous prize for anyone to win. Good luck to all entries 🙂
