I love watching French films and seeing the gorgeous French women walking through the markets piling their uber chic baskets with cheese and baguettes. Last year I was introduced to a fabulous company called The Market Basket and my dreams of being an uber chic French woman (like in one of my films) became a reality – well had the basket part anyway!

The Market Basket specialize in beautiful handmade baskets made from the finest materials and fabrics and are unlike anything you will find in the shops. Their unique design makes them great for many things from shopping to going on an adventure to the beach or a picnic. Recently I took my Market Basket aboard the Malu Os boat and had a fabulous day out. It was stocked with snacks, sunscreen, towels, water and of course wine.

The baskets hold quite a lot and the handles are made of a beautiful leather making them strong and able to hold quite a bit of weight. I’m a huge fan of the versatility and regularly use mine for my training sessions and also the office, and these gorgeous baskets never fail draw a complement.

Would you like to add a Market Basket to your life? The lovely team at The Market Basket have kindly given one of a readers the chance to win their own basket valued at $49 For a chance to win simply answer this easy question: What would you be filling your Market Basket with? Our judges will choose their favorite answer and announce a winner on Tuesday the 4th of August at 7.30pm Good luck x

Ten years ago, Lindy McLeod was living abroad and while visiting France, admired the women of Paris rushing home in the evenings and on weekends with their fresh produce – fruit, breads, meats and cheeses – brimming in their seriously chic shopping baskets. She bought some for herself which rapidly became an indispensable part of her life. That’s where the story began…

I just love flowers and buy myself one or two fresh bunches each week. Tricky to carry in a shopping trolley, or in my arms with other buys, I have visions of me traipsing around with my bunches of lilies nestled comfortably and easily in my basket as I have coffee and catch up with friends. Reminds me of the old style classic movies.

I’d fill it with a gorgeous silky scarf, a great book, cheese and carrots and dip and a smooth white wine and sit on the warm rocks and watch my kids play in the cool crystal waters of the Top Pool at Katherine Gorge.
