Mrs Tink tackles the Chewbacca Legs

The girls at Mrs Tink HQ giggled nonstop when Schick sent me some of their new razors to review. To explain a little further, I should let you know I have been called Chewbacca more times than I can remember by Mr Tink.
In fact (in the interest of over sharing), I can also go as far as saying that given Mr Tink is a body builder, and shaved from head to toe, I’m often the one in the marriage with the hairiest legs (sexy eh?).

You see, shaving my legs is not a top priority. I drag it out as long as I can and then when I finally do get round to the task I scramble in the shower and quickly do it while trying to shower Master 6 at the same time. So, you see asking me to review a razor is quite hysterical but it was one Mr Tink fully encouraged and supported even going as far as running me a bath to do it properly (poor guy was desperate to sleep next to a women and not a sheepdog!).

The first razor I reviewed from Schick was their new Intuition Razor with 4 blades and a special pivoting head lined with Coconut Milk & Almond Oil. It sounded good enough to eat! This clever razor requires no soap or shaving cream and all you need is water, a huge plus for this lazy girl. When I first unwrapped it I was taken aback by the large head but excited to test drive it to see what all the buzz was about. I soaked my legs and put the razor to work. The razor floated across my skin and almost felt as though maybe I wasn’t doing it correctly because it was almost too easy and delicate to use. I went to rinse the blade and realised this clever razor was certainly doing it’s job and had removed all the hair in one go!

After shaving my legs they felt silky, and moisturised and if I’m honest I couldn’t remember them ever feeling so good and Mr Tink was thrilled to once again have the hairier legs in the relationship.

A week later I decided I rather enjoyed silky legs and saddled up to try the Schick Battery Operated Hydro Silk Trim Style Razor. Now, this is one sexy little razor. It’s curvy and sleek, has 5 blades and is the perfect size. But this was no ordinary razor not only is it battery operated but it also has an inbuilt bikini trimmer.
To review this razor I opted for the shower and ran the razor under water to get started which activated the special moisturizing serum which left my legs feel silky and soft. I then ventured into an area that unless it’s summer see’s little attention…. The bikini line or as Mr Tink likes to call it “my little piece of the 70’s.”
Okay, I confess I’m a lazy bikini line trimmer so the Hydro Silk really had its work cut out for it but it was easy to use and extremely quick. I was done in under a few minutes without a single cut. This clever razor really saves time and makes it easy to keep things well maintained and tidy so there are no excuses for a bikini line that looks like a national forest.

Seeing as Mr Tink is a man who is constantly shaving and manscaping I felt it only fair he got in on the action and reviewed the Schick Hydro 5 Groomer and the Schick Hydro Shave Gel. To begin I inserted the battery and then left Mr Tink to it. He shaved his face and trimmed his side burns all in under 5 minutes and also left with bathroom cut free. He loved the 5 blades and it left him with a nice close shave unlike his usual razor. And the trimmer was a great bonus with for the sidey’s. Mr Tink is usually a shaving foam kinda guy and was skeptical about trying anything new but he LOVED the Hydro Clear Shave Gel and so did his skin it left his skin feeling soft and kissable!

5 stars to Schick for great product range, I was so impressed this review wrote itself and the products were a delight to try and on the upside this lazy girl now has a weekly shaving routine (not 6 weekly).

I have a Miss 2 that checks if dad has had a close shave before she kisses him goodnight. The same Miss who touches my underarms and says “prickles”. I’m usually a dime a dozen girl when it comes to razers I always assumed a blade was a blade but it sounds like I may be wrong.

I would love to get my hands on any of those Shick razors but I think the waterproof bikini trimmer sounds like a dream. I’m a beach lover through and through but I also have very sensitive skin and so am prone to ingrown hairs – the worst combination! Using a cheap razor only amplifies this problem and I have resorted to using an Epilator (I’ve built up a tolerance over years on my underarms and legs but it’s got to be some sort of chinese torture, I’m sure).

I would love to win one of the Schick prize packs, because like you I am hairy and lazy and don’t do a damn thing about it. I would enjoy the bikini trimmer and I’m sure my partner would probably appreciate I took the time out to do something about that situation lol. Love the blog!
