Mrs Tink’s BIGGER than Big 5 Weeks of Christmas Giveaways! Week Two -Qixels Moose Toys

Keeping Master 6 busy over the holidays can be mission impossible sometimes – I think being a lion tamer would be easier. The constant whining of “I’m bored” or “What can I do now” are chanted through our house every 32 seconds during the school holidays. These school holidays I had the pleasure of reviewing Qixels a super fun product from Moose Toys

Qixels is essentially a creative product that comprises of tiny little plastic cubes that when blasted with water create a very cool qixel design. Each pack comes with a design kit and trays to create your picture on making it very easy for kids to follow.

Master 6 tore open the box screeching at the top of his lungs “These are the same ones that are on TV, Mum!” (Things are apparently way cooler if they have been TV). He quickly got to work creating and within 20 minutes (or one green tea and 10 magazine pages) he was finished and ready to move onto the next step of spraying his design with water. I helped with the spraying which was very easy and required 25 sprays which meant Master 6 had to put his maths head on and count with each pump. After the design was sprayed with water we let it sit for 30 minutes and just like magic the tiny cubes molded together to create a design that Master 6 showed off proudly. So thrilled he set to work and started his next project and continued over the next few days until he ran out of cubes. Given how much he loved the Qixels, I popped down to Big W and purchased another 3 sets and let my little creator get back to work as I enjoyed some ‘me-time’ with a green tea and a recorded episode of The Real Housewives.

Of all the reviews I have done on kids toys this one without a doubt has been my favorite, Master 6 loved it and I enjoyed seeing him get creative and using his mind rather than being glued to the TV or video games. Watching him proudly display all of his designs in his bedroom and starting his own ‘Qixel art gallery’ was very heart-warming and I think it’s safe to say the Tink’s are addicted to Qixels. 10/10 for this toy and big snaps to Moose on a great product.

My two daughters are obsessed with Minecraft and these (I’ve been told) are way better than the Beado’s “as they are round Mum!”. Qixel’s would give me (finger’s crossed) a few hours of peace – and them not wanting to be on their iPads!

Having 2 boys I’m always on the look for items we can enjoy together. Id love to sit down and get creative with my little men while we are camping this holiday. Great for those rainy days. Here’s hoping. Thanks for the opportunity!

Our little man, just turned 5, and all of a sudden he’s decided he does like being arty and crafty, and he is all of a sudden all grown up. I used to be so scared of tiny things like this that might end up in mouths etc but he really has matured and I think this would be such an amazing toy to show him how clever he is and great for practicing those pattern techniques getting ready for prep next year.

My eldest loves to make birds out of everything. He sits in the yard waiting for them to land so he can draw them. He gets upset when there is no wildlife around and wants me to hunt them down and bring them to him. I think he’d do a great job making nature pictures with these.

I would like to win for my youngest who is 4 to do with her arty grandma when she comes over for a holiday in January. They love doing crafty stuff together and its a bit tricky for her Grandma to teach her cross stitch and knitting yet

These look cool! My kids are still a bit to little (2 and 4) but we have my niece aged 10 coming to visit and this would be a great present/quiet time bribe… I might possible be the coolest Aunty around then 😉

my children are going to say those dreaded words (MUM I’M BORED) over the holidays no doubt – and these would be my secret toy to pull out of my hat when those words are uttered – it would give my children a lot of entertainment and they would really enjoy this type of toy to share and create with 🙂
