Here is a little more about the fab wines up for grabs:

The sensual sounds of Prince’s Purple Rain are the perfect backdrop to sip this textured Sauvignon Blanc from Claymore Wines, who have a rich tradition of having fun with their wines, naming them after their favourite songs, albums and artists.
Bright straw green in the glass, this youthful Sauvignon Blanc from the Clare Valley has a very varietal mix of perfumed kiwi fruit and passionfruit power that lifts from the glass. Finely textured yet bold, it has good fruit richness from start to finish, a fine mouthfeel and excellent length. It’s a truly delightful example of the variety.

Haselgrove ‘BRADAN’ Pinot Noir

Aroma – Warm inviting dark cherry and redcurrant fruits, hints of rhubarb, blueberry and strawberry. Supporting sage and wood spice with a hint of eucalypt and freshly ground pepper.

Palate – Medium bodied, very fleshy palate with primary fruits up front that linger throughout. Great savoury palate with a hint of char on the finish and a gentle fresh spice lift. Balanced acidity with life on the finish along with velvety fine tannins give great ageing potential to the wine. Exceptional fruit length with a hint of menthol on the finish. A perfect match to your favourite duck dishes.

Winemaking

Harvested in two picks 1 x small early pick and the rest at optimal maturity. Crushed to Open fermenters with Plunging 3 x daily and 1 x pump over per day, fermented for 7 days on skins wth the later parcel pressed directly to oak and the early parcel remaining on skins for 80 days. Matured in 15% new French oak and the balance 2-6 yo French oak for 10 months.

Vineyards

Selected from a single vineyard in Kuitpo from the southern Adelaide Hills. It was selected for its cooler nights but warm days and shallow soil consisting of red clay and quartzite. The combination of the above produces structural wines with depth of fruit and varietal character. A line of gum trees to the north gives a very subtle eucalypt tone to the wine very typical of the Adelaide Hills.

Damn Fine Wine is run by a few guys who love great wine.

We work in the wine and restaurant industry, and yet even for us, choosing great wine is a challenge. We discover great wine and present it here.

Damn Fine Wine is about simplicity, quality, value and a good story.

Our concept is inspired by a short wine list in a fine restaurant.
Each wine is chosen from many potential choices.
The painstaking process of saying “no” to so many, to achieve a distilled list of great wine that the customer will love.

This is our hand picked list.

We explore varietals and styles throughout Australia and the world.
We keep things interesting and share what is best.
It’s our belief that you should enjoy a great wine every time.

I LOVE champagne but for wine, bring on the Shiraz! I got a crystal decanter and an air rater for Christmas from my ever amazing fiancé! Holy moly they have changed the way I drink and enjoy wine with my friends and family.

My favourite is Pink Moscato! I like it plain in a glass and I also make a watermelon moscato punch. I freeze watermelon cubes in advance. Mix moscato, lime soda, a splash of white port and the frozen watermelon! Super yum

My favourite wine is a lovely glass of chilled Sauv Blanc in a thin rimmed (crystal) glass kicking back with a cheese platter & the thought that there is at least another bottle or three chilling to follow with an awesome drinking companion to accompany the task at hand!!

My favourite type of wine is Moscato! So sweet, crisp and very easy on the palate. Goes well with everything! My favourite way to enjoy it is icy cold from the fridge with good company and greet food🍷🍷🍷
