This year has been a whirlwind, in fact saying whirlwind sounds like the understatement of the year I should say this year has been more like a tornado out of the Twister: the movie. It’s been crazy! A wonderful scene to watch from a birds eye view but in the thick of it it’s been ridiculous beyond words. I’ve been trying to keep more balls in the air than a Spanish juggler in Cirque du Soleil! Between being a Mummy to a two year old, a seven year old and a 44 year old man, running three businesses and trying to launch a fourth, life has been insane, rewarding, challenging and fun all at once.
As many of you are aware this year I threw myself head first into a new business venture, Miss Monogram. For those of you that don’t know, Miss Monogram is an online store specialising in bespoke, personalised, monogrammed pieces for you and your loved ones. It is quite fab and I am incredibly proud of the work we have done.
Starting a new business is always an adventure, choosing a business name, organising marketing, stationary, SEO this list goes on and on and seems at times never ending but despite the lows and the challenges, the highs are rewarding and they make the grey hair and black eyes worth it.
When we first started planning in February I had no idea where to begin. We spent the first part of the year researching the best materials and designing a collection. And the second half planning for the launch on November 12th. We prepped and primped, primped and prepped, planned and worked and finally our launch night came.
As you would have seen, no doubt on social media, it was a great success with one hundred women gracing our showroom with their presence and buying up a storm. The website also launched that night too.
Our best sellers have definitely been our Miss Londons. Now available in nine, yes you read that right NINE colours, we are been beyond elated to see how much you have enjoyed them.
We have also expanded into card holders, luggage tags, candles and monogrammed cushions.
Obviously the secret is now out about Miss Monogram and many of you may be reading this with one in your home (thank you!). Miss Monogram has been a dream of mine now for many years, I’ve always believed that style is about two things, being confident, and adding your own flair to all that you do. Miss Monogram adds your own personal brand to stylish leather accessories that will have everyone around you talking. Rather than walking around with a big logo of someone else’s brand your gorgeous bespoke piece reflects you.
Now I could sing on all day about Monogramming, literally all day because it’s something that has been a large part of my style for years but to now be able to share it with you my Mrs Tink wolf pack is very rewarding. So today I get to say a big thank you to you, thank you for all the love, all the support and all the encouragement. I have had an enormous year but even on the hardest days you have each made this old chook smile with your lovely comments and enthusiasm with the blog and all my adventures. To extend a super duper thank you I’m offering all my Mrs Tink readers FREE POST on all orders until Monday the 19th of December at Midnight. 2016 has been my biggest year yet and one I won’t forget or the people who have helped me along the way. The biggest lesson I’ve learnt this year is to always take care of you. This lesson is easier said than done, and it’s my number one fault I go go go until I burn out and I’ve learnt, us ladies are the glue that keeps it all together and if Mummy’s burnt out nothing else works. I think as Mums we never stop, we can always see something that needs to be done and the wheels never stop turning. Now the business has officially launched and the orders are pouring through I’m making a promise to myself and to my family I will be taking a little me time once a week, even if it’s just for an hour it will be my time to switch off and regroup, refresh and reset.
It has been a long and thoroughly enjoyable journey and I would most like to thank you, the Mrs Tink family, for your support. You have been there for me since the beginning and your encouragement has meant a lot.
