On Saturday I attended the annual SunnyKids Mayoral Ball at the Sunshine Coast Airport with the Sunshine Coast Daily Team. Complete with the most fabulous posse it was time to find the perfect frock! For weeks I searched high and low and found one that really took my breath away, a frock worthy of its very own gala event, a frock that shined bright and screamed wear me…. alas said frock was also $1900! As I considered selling my house or my car to be able to purchase the stunning Portia & Scarlett Gown I remembered seeing a dress hire company on Instagram and eagerly searched to see if by some crazy chance they had the dress… and holy frock they did! There it was right before me available to rent for a small fraction of the price! So where is this fashion Mecca I speak of? Dress for a Night.
Dress for a Night not only has boutiques you can pop on into but their online selection is literally eye popping. Carrying the most incredible selection of designers for a pinch of what you would pay to buy. Portia & Scarlett, Alex Perry, Elle Zeitoune, Talula, Alice McCall, Camilla, Thurley just to name a few!
Each gown is express posted to you with a return satchel for easy postage back after your event and wait for it… they do the dry cleaning! One of the biggest costs after pouring out a fortune on a dress is to then pay to have it dry cleaned and Dress for A Night does this all from their end at no additional charge.
Dresses start from $69.00 for a 4 day hire. The website also features a great description of sizing along with a video so you can see how it will look in reality rather than on an airbrushed model. After years of attending amazing galas I was a little disappointed in myself for not cottoning on to Dress for a Night sooner. The easy breezy way to look like the belle of the ball without the bank balance to match!
