Frocks and Fab Finds at Julie-Ann Boutique Buderim

I am lucky to attend lots of fabulous events, and with each new event my hunger for finding the perfect gown grows. For many years I’ve heard Sunny Coast women rave about Julie-Ann Boutique. At events the same ladies are standing up on stage for the best dressed award and time after time smile and say they are wearing a stunning piece from Julie-Ann Boutique. So I decided it was time to investigate for myself and see if Julie-Ann Boutique had the perfect outfit for me to attend a charity luncheon.

Located at the top of Buderim Julie-Ann Boutique has been a fashion Mecca for many ladies for over 16 years, and once I entered the shop it was easy to see why. The walls are lined with a wide range of gowns and fashion accessories for every occasion whether it be a Luncheon, Wedding, Melbourne Cup or a Gala Ball you will find it all. Boasting a huge range of designers such as Bariano, Ursula USA, Pink Ruby, Pasduchas, Jadore, Rose Noir and Studio.

Allow yourself some time to browse and get up close and personal with the designs because looks can be deceiving on the hanger. Like this gorgeous Jadore dress that on the hanger had me wondering if it was really my style and once I put it on I instantly knew it was the ‘one’ and would be perfect for the luncheon.

This stunning piece is perfect for Spring and has a fun, feminine feel and although the bodice is structured it was incredible to wear. Feeling like a million bucks in my brand new frock and not wanting to take it off I went from the luncheon to cocktails with the girls without feeling the need to change.

Julie-Ann Boutique has something for all ages, shapes and sizes, a popular choice for many teens getting ready for formals along with their mothers sharing the day with their daughter. I was pleasantly surprised to find multiple choices to choose from for future events and absolutely loved that each gown purchased is registered with the event you are attending so there are none of those ‘who wore it better’ moments.

Buderim never fails to excite me with the fab finds and beautiful boutiques and Julie-Ann Boutique has quickly become one of my faves. Pop in and have a peek at 47 Burnett Street, Buderim.

Fab Frocks For A Gala Evening

The 19th Sunshine Coast Business Woman of the Year Awards were held at The Events Centre Caloundra on Saturday. The evening was filled with inspiring business women, courageous stories, successful entrepreneurs and fabulous frocks! Yes, you know I can’t go past a good frock which is why I was literally bursting at the seams (pardon the pun) when the very talented award winning designer Marilyn Crystelle of Marilyn Crystelle Bridal said she would make me a gown fit for a finalist.

Dress: Marilyn Crystelle Bridal, Earrings Colette By Colette Hayman, Clutch Miss Monogram Miss London ‘All That Glitters Is Gold’ Pouch, Hair Evalyn Parsons Hair, Makeup Hannah Mills

Yes that’s right a finalist, this year I was not only a guest I was one of the lucky seven to become a finalist in the Micro Small Business Category. For such a special night I was looking to shine, shine, shine and that’s what Marilyn does best! Marilyn created a stunning Miss Monogram pink gown (of course). Each layer of fabric and sequin was hand sewn so that it was perfection. The cut was flawless, the shape very feminine and it hugged me in all the right places. Marilyn literally created my Gala gown from the ground up starting with a piece of calico for measurements and over the next few weeks she presented me with a gown worthy of winning an award all on its own! Located in Mudjimba, Marilyn is a proud Sunny Coaster who creates gowns that suit our climate without losing the elegance and sophistication, it’s no wonder Marilyn Crystelle Bridal has so many accolades. I first met Marilyn 10 years ago when she created my wedding dress, I fell in love with her attention to detail. She has an unmistakable signature look with her designs, each one tell a story and come alive when the right person tries it on, much like Cinderella and the glass slipper. Although I didn’t win the award of the evening I felt like a million dollar babe, and I wasn’t the only one turning up the fashion stakes. Here were my favourite looks of the evening:

Under The Purple Sky Lions inPlace inc

I have always found that fashion on the Sunshine Coast has a relaxed flair. Sunny Coasters are incredible at dressing up when appropriate and enjoying a pair of Havianas and a simple maxi dress on weekends. One of the things I enjoy most about our gorgeous lifestyle is having the best of both worlds. Whilst, I can enjoy my relaxed informal weekends, I’m also a sucker for a fab event and frock.

Last weekend, I attended the Under The Purple Sky Gala Night in honour of Lions inPlace Inc, a charity supporting victims of domestic violence. The event was held at Aussie World and was a truly spectacular sight with guests attending to raise money and awareness for a charity working so hard within the community. This beautiful occasion, like all of White House Celebrations affairs, was attended by a cross section of women from the Sunshine Coast and with that an incredible display of style & fashion! One of my favourite things to do at a fancy soiree of this size is to people watch. Soaking up all of the gorgeous style & glamour with that Sunshine Coast edge. Glowing skin, sparkling smiles and the oozing of simplistic trends. Clean, romantic make-up and polished hair with not a haviana in sight (except perhaps for the cab line at the end of the night). The dress code for this event was cocktail and while I love a good cocktail as much as the next girl I must say cocktail is one dress code that continually leaves me stumped. I’m a gal who loves to frock up and is not afraid of bling. With this dress code, traditionally gowns are to the knee and more relaxed than formal.

In the name of research and of course to satisfy my sticky beak nature, I chose five of my favourite looks of the night and asked each lady the same questions about their outfits.
